So fishing is what they came for, so
that is what we will do. We all had a line in when Jeff and Janet
went for a walk around the other side of the lake. That left Lisa
and myself to get to know each other. She was a good looking girl.
She was twenty five and was on summer vacation from the University
in Thunder Bay. With her long brown hair, she looked to be about
five foot two, just the size I like.
I got my bottle of whiskey and headed back to the fishing poles and
there were two fish on. I let Lisa reel them in and sat back down
with my back to a tree, not but twenty feet from the water and
handed the bottle to Lisa. She took and then took a mouth full.
The time went by. We had five fish on the keeper line and I was
wondering where Jeff and Janet were when out of the bush they came
smiling like they were up to no good.
It was now lunchtime, so they pulled out what they had in their ice
box. There was a good assortment of food and I was welcome to eat it
with them. I helped myself to some chicken, potato salad, some more
chicken and to top it off a piece of apple pie with ice cream on
top. I told them how much I had enjoyed the food. Jeff put together
the makins for a smoke and one for me that I shred with Lisa.
I was leaning on a tree, sitting down when Lisa came up, sat down
and put her head on my legs in the laying down position. I felt that
she was coming on to me and didn't mind at all.
We all sat around for some time when Lisa asked what I was doing
that evening, then asked if I would like to come back with them in
to town. I told her I would love to, but I have my horse and I
didn't know the area well enough to travel at night and didn't want
to leave all my things here. She then looked me in the eye and said
that I could bring all of my things and there was a shed that could
hold five horses and a couple of bails of hay to feed him or rub him
down with. Jeff said it wasn't a shed, but a barn. Lisa also said
that she has a place for me to sleep with a big smile on her face.
Well how could I say no to a girl looking as good as she was at that
moment, so I started to pack up my things and saddle my horse.
The three of them gathered their things and the fish and started
back. I walked my horse and let Lisa ride.
There was a road about a half of a mile over the hill that I would
be going over when I left my last camp. It ran east and west.
Off to the side of the rode was a blue pick up that Jeff owned. We
put everything in the back, unsaddled King, put the saddle in the
back, then Lisa asked if she could ride bareback into town. I got
up, then helped her up. Jeff and Janet said they would see us back
at their house and we were off. It was a couple of miles into town
westward on the road.
It was a windy road with lots of open scenery. Lisa held on to me
like she was trying to squeeze the life out of me. I had to loosen
her hands up some just to get some air in. By the time we made it to
their house, it was three thirty in the afternoon.
Jeff had stopped and picked up some steaks and beer. He was going to
cook the steaks on the BBQ, but I talked him into letting me cook
them over an open flame in the fire pit, the way a bush man would
cook them. We all sat around the fire pit. Lisa and I, arm in arm
enjoying one another's company.
Once the fire died down and there was just some coals left, I put
down a metal screen over some big soccer ball size stones for the
meat to cook on. Sitting around with people driving by made me want
to go back to the bush, and I think Lisa could feel this. After we
ate, Lisa asked me if I would like to go for a walk out in the back
field. Jeff gave me a smoke for the walk and we were off.
She took me to a small river where she said she came to be alone,
and it was very nice and quiet there. She lay between my legs
holding my hand, not saying anything, just enjoying the sounds of
nature and the beautiful woman I was with. We must have sat there
for forty five minutes before a word was spoken and that is when she
asked me to stay with her for the night. I told her I would only if
she would come stay with me for a night out in the bush where I
live. She said she would and we sealed it with a kiss, our first
one. One that I will remember for many years to come.
We made our way back and Jeff was at the fire. We sat and talked
about my trip and how it has been. I told them of my stop in North
Bay and that I didn't blame them for the way I was treated and that
in the bush was where I like to live. Lisa, at this time, gave me a
hug and told me that she really liked the bush man she had found out
in the bush today.
The sun was going down now. I guessed it to be around nine o'clock
at night. I had a few beer, but preferred the whiskey, so I went to
get it out of the barn. I came back and we all sat around for a bit,
then headed in to bed.
Morning came, the sun was shinning. So I went out to see King,
saddle him, and went for a look about. It was about seven in the
morning. I didn't want to wake anyone up, so I went for a ride. I
was gone for about an hour and a half.
